Summary

A chest rack with AK-47 magazines and multiple linked rounds were excavated by an Afghan and coalition security force outside a Taliban leader's home in Marjeh district, Helmand province, Afghanistan, March 12, 2013. The Taliban leader holds senior administrative responsibilities for the insurgent network in Marjeh. He is deeply involved in planning, coordinating, and conducting attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He also has significant knowledge regarding the composition of the insurgency in the local area. The security force also seized two machine guns and over 400 rounds of ammunition as a result of the operation. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard W. Jones Jr.)
