Summary

A U.S. Army CH-47F Chinook helicopter assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment, California Army National Guard, is on the ground near the peak of Mount Whitney in Inyo, California, after inserting search and rescue personnel to assist an injured hiker requiring hoist rescue, Aug. 25, 2019. The Cal Guard aircrew was activated by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services to aid Inyo County Sheriff's Department with the high altitude rescue.
