A U.S. Marine Corps sniper with Task Force Southwest

A U.S. Marine Corps sniper with Task Force Southwest (TFSW) presents a Texas flag that he keeps in his plate carrier in honor of his state and father. He has taken the flag everywhere with him for approximately four years while serving on two deployments. During this deployment he is assisting with an advising mission in support of 1st Brigade, Afghan National Army (ANA) 215th Corps as they conduct Operation Maiwand 12 at Camp Shorserack, Afghanistan, March 18, 2018. Operation Maiwand 12 is an Afghan-led, TFSW-assisted operation with maneuver elements from the ANA 215th Corps, National Directorate of Security, and 505th Zone Afghan National Police forces to expand the security belt in Helmand Province.
