Afghan academy graduates first female sergeants major
Summary
Sgt. Maj. Donna R. King, the operations sergeants major with the 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, and a native of Monticello, Ariz., stands with Command Sgt. Maj. Zahara Nufy, from the Afghan National Army, and Command Sgt. Maj. Maryam Tabish, from the Afghan National Police, following the graduation of the senior enlisted course at the Kabul Military Training Center’s Sergeants Major Academy, Dec. 12, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Nufy and Tabish are the first women to graduate from the six-month long course, which is taught entirely by Afghan instructors and includes training in resource management, military operations, cultural affairs, military law and religion.
