Army National Guardsmen representing Alaska, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming, recognize the hard work of participating competitors and honor the winners of the National Guard Best Warrior Region VI 2018 during a closing award ceremony at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, May 17, 2018. National Guard Best Warrior Region VI 2018 was a four-day competition that tests Soldiers' mental and physical toughness through a series of events that demonstrate technical and tactical proficiency to determine the top junior enlisted Soldier and non-commissioned officer. The winners of this year’s competition, South Dakota Army National Guard Spc. Bailey Ruff and Oregon Army National Guard Sgt. Dane Moorehead, will compete at the national level later this year.
