Description: Astronaut David R. Scott, mission commander, places the Apollo Lunar Surface drill on the surface in preparation for adding additional core stems. The rack with core and bore stems is to his right and the solar wind spectrometer is in the foreground; the tapelike ribbons are cables that connect the central station to the individual Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) experiments. Image was taken during the second Extravehicular Activity (EVA 2) of the Apollo 15 mission.
