BOSTON—Soldiers from the Mass. National Guard transported four million pieces of personal protective equipment from Logan Airport here to central distribution points across Mass., April 13, 2020. The equipment arrived at the airport close to midnight and the soldiers worked well into the early hours of the morning to complete the mission. The late night delivery was part of the commonwealth’s ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by shielding healthcare workers and first responders from the virus.
