Brig. Gen. D. Keith Waddell (right), adjutant general of Louisiana, awards Capt. Kevin Brown, commander of Expeditionary Medical Facility-M, the Louisiana Legion of Merit medal at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus May 29, 2020. The award highlights his distinguished and meritorious service as the EMF-M commander from April 1, 2020 through 31 May, 2020, for Joint Task Force-Louisiana during Louisiana’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Defense will transition its tasks of life saving and sustaining, and the reduction of immediate threats to public health, to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal, state, and local agencies as they continue to conduct recovery and mitigation.
