Captain Chris Polidora, operations officer with 1st Marine Regiment, said his goodbyes to his wife, Herlinda, and daughters Sofia and Lilliana, at a farewell for the regiment aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 10, 2014. Polidora, a native of Hazleton, Pa., is part of the last regiment to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The regiment, as Task Force Belleau Wood, will be in charge of the safety of Camp Bastion and Camp Leatherneck in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
