Col. Barry Huggins, commander of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Lancers, stationed out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Sgt. Maj. Andrew Connette, Command Sgt. Maj. For 2nd Bde., 2nd ID, stand with their subordinate commanders and sergeant major’s in front of the rock dedicated to the “Lancer” brigade Nov. 22. Every unit that comes through the National Training Center located at Fort Irwin is given the option to showcase their unit insignia to the world by decorating a rock from what is known as the “rock pile” with their organization’s crest.

The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
