US COAST GUARD COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Summary
Carrabelle, FL (Oct. 31)--Tripp Rasmussen, the son of auxilirist, Richard Rasmussen, pretends behind one of the guns on the Coast Guard's newest cutter the SeaHawk (WPB 87323). The SeaHawk is stationed in Carrabelle, Florida. The newly designed coastal patrol boat has several enhancements over the aging 82s, including improved mission sea keeping abilities, significantly upgraded habitability, 25 knot max speed, and compliance with all current and projected environmental protection laws. The CPB also employs an innovative stern launch and recovery system using an Aluminum hulled inboard diesel powered waterjet small boat. The boat can be launched in sea state 4. The vastly larger pilot house is equipped with an integrated bridge system including an electronic chart display system (ECDIS) which interfaces with the CG's new surface search radar.
