Curtis Greer, 81st Force Support Squadron civilian personnel flight chief, laughs as U.S. Air Force Retired Maj. Gen. Mark Brown delivers his remarks as the guest speaker during the Black History Month Luncheon inside the Bay Breeze Event Center at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Feb. 20, 2019. Brown served as the 2nd Air Force commander at Keesler from July 2014 through August 2016. The theme of Black History Month this year is ìBlack Migrations.î The theme emphasizes the movement of people of African descent to new destinations and subsequently to new social realities in the U.S. Keesler hosted several events throughout the month to include a 5K run, luncheon, movies and will conclude with a close-out celebration Feb. 28.
