El Salvadoran soldiers fold the colors for a final time at the North Kabul International Airport during a ceremony officially retiring their nation’s colors and marking the conclusion of the El Salvadoran contribution to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, May 11. El Salvador contributed 130 service members from across the El Salvadoran Army, Air Force and Navy to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan between August 2011 and May 2014. They were involved in multiple organizations and activities that included Mi-17 Aerial Advisers Team and Police Advisers Team, while occupying key staff officer positions across the country.
