F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots assigned to the Ohio Air
Summary
F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots assigned to the Ohio Air National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing simulate flying combat operations at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Michigan on June 21. More than 6,000 rounds and 70,000 pounds of munitions were dropped at the Grayling Air Gunnery Range. An increased operational tempo provides an opportunity to assess the 180FW’s ability to conduct surge operations similar to what is experienced in a deployed combat scenario. The 180th FW performs daily training, conducted in realistic environments under realistic circumstances, ensures our forces maintain the highest levels of proficiency and readiness for worldwide deployment.
