Galena, Alaska, May 21, 2014 -- FEMA Operations Section Chief Robert Purcell (L) briefs Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) Willie Nunn (C) and FCO Dolph Diemont (R) on home elevations in a repetitive loss environment. After severe flooding destroyed the previous homes in 2013, FEMA and the State of Alaska worked closely with the City of Galena to repair and elevate the homes above the base level flood elevations to mitigate future losses.
