Summary
Members of the Coast Guard Historical Ships' Company dressed in an authentic U.S. Revenue Cutter Services uniforms present a painting of the Revenue Cutter Thomas Jefferson at the Virginia State Capitol building in Richmond, Va., Thursday. The presentation commemorates the War of 1812 as well as the crew of the Norfolk-based Thomas Jefferson which was supported by a local pilot boat and state militia on April 11, 1813 when they captured three Royal Navy barges including sixty British officers and enlisted men.
