Lance Cpl. Charlie Vazquez, a food service specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, unboxes field rations at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 29, 2018. Vazquez, a native of New York City, graduated from Park East High School in June of 2016 and before enlisting in August the same year. CLB-31, the Logistics Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides a variety of critical missions, including motor transportation, landing support and military police. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
