Marines With CLR-1 Test Prototype CBRN Uniforms During Steel Knight 20
Summary
U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Regiment 1 receive information on Tex-Shield Carbon uniforms, a prototype for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) protection during Steel Knight 20 at Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California on Dec. 8, 2019. The joint project manager for CBRN conducted wear trials for the uniform integrated protection ensemble family of system program which aims to reduce the operational burdens to service members by providing protective systems with improvised fit, function, and improved integration with current combat kits. Steel Knight is an annual exercise that spans the western United States and California coast. It focuses on command and control capabilities, ground fires and maneuver warfare tactics, while testing Marines and sailors across a range of environments and preparing to counter aggression against a near-peer threat.
