McKinley honors Serbian contributions in two world wars
Summary
Air Force Gen. Craig McKinley, right, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, and Army Maj. Gen. Gregory Wayt, left, the adjutant general of the Ohio National Guard, lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mount Avala in Serbia on Sept. 11. "It was especially poignant today, on the anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, when our nation was attacked, that I symbolically thank the Serbian military for their support to the United States in World War I and World War II," McKinley said. Serbia and Ohio are paired in the National Guard State Partnership Program.
