Retired Air Force Captain Albert Whitesides, Jr., 76, one of the original members of the Tuskegee Airmen, extinguishes a candle during the"Lonely Eagle"ceremony on 28 Feb 97, in the Randolph Officers Club. The ceremony commemorated Tuskegee Airmen who are no longer living. About 20 original members of the Black World War II pilots were in attendance and were honored during a formal dinner that also celebrated the Air Force's 50th Anniversary
