Description: STS-103 payload commander Steven L. Smith (free-floating with no stripes on his EMU) and mission specialist John M. Grunsfeld (attached to a workstation on the RMS arm with a red strip on the pants of his EMU) are photographed working during the first of three extravehicular activities (EVAs) performed during the mission. Views include: Grunsfeld leans into the HST to replace the Rate Sensor Unit (RSU) with help from Smith with Australia in the background.
