Staff Sgt. Juan Polino, from Merced, leads his 3rd squad assault force from the 1-160th Infantry in combat maneuver drills Feb. 13, 2012, in the freshly falling snow fields of the U.S. Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. The training gave his team, which consisted of California Army National Guard Spcs. Jeremie Montez, Joshua Huss, and Luis Valle, Pfcs. Raymond Perez and Uriel Gutierrez and Pvt. Antonio Medoza, a chance to try out alpine equipment issued by the MWTC and test their fitness levels at high elevation.
