The commanding general of the U.S. Army South, Maj.
Summary
The commanding general of the U.S. Army South, Maj. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo, goes over the blueprint of the construction site in the municipality of Villa Central with the chief of staff for the Dominican army, Ruben D. Paulino Sem, during their visit to the Task Force Larimar troops working across the different sites in Barahona, Dominican Republic, on May 20. TF Larimar, the force behind Beyond the Horizon 2014 Training Exercise, is currently conducting engineering work at five different sites. Three of the sites will be medical clinics and the other two will be used as school partitions in the province of Barahona, Dominican Republic. This will provide local residents better opportunities to receive medical attention as well as education. Furthermore, free medical services including geriatrics, gynecologists, dentists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, pediatricians and pharmacists will be available throughout different sectors of Barahona as part of the BTH exercise. This is a joint humanitarian training exercise sponsored by U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Army South. This type of exercise often promotes a stronger and long lasting partnership between countries.
