U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Antonio Adolphues, left, from the 116th Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) based out of Robins Air Force Base, Ga., Georgia Air National Guard and Senior Airman Danielle Rezendes, from the 143rd CES, Rhode Island ANG, both engineering assistants, conduct a survey for a potential bed down area using a GPS surveyor during Silver Flag training, Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., April 14, 2014. During the weeklong course, Guardsmen from the 116th CES and the other units are learning how to build and maintain bare-base operations at a forward-deployed location. In addition, they are honing their combat and survival skills and repairing simulated bomb-damaged runways, setting up base facilities and establishing various critical base operating support capabilities. More than 30 Airmen from the 116th CES attended the exercise that consists of extensive classroom and hands-on training culminating in an evaluation of learned skills on the last day of class.
