James Lambert leads the start of a 5K road race commemorating the 105th Birthday celebration of the U.S. Army Reserve at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, on April 27, 2013. The U.S. Army Reserve command team visited troops deployed throughout Afghanistan. The Army Reserve, founded in 1908 as a reserve corps of medical personnel, includes 148 different military occupation specialties and accounts for almost 20 percent of the Army’s total force.
