U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Bryan Battaglia, senior enlisted adviser to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, toured the Detention Facility in Parwan, July 2, 2012, to gain a better understanding of the strategic-level mission performed at the DFIP. As the senior non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Armed Forces, Battaglia serves as the principal military adviser to the CJCS and the Secretary of Defense on all matters involving joint and combined total force integration, utilization, health of the force and joint development for enlisted personnel.
