US Navy (USN) Hull Maintenance Technician First Class (HT1) Martin Mantz (left), and USN Hull Maintenance Technician Second Class (HT2) Gary Chavez talk to reporters at a press conference about their rescue after floating overnight 21 miles off the island of Oahu, Hawaii (HI), when their 21-foot fishing boat sank on October 24th. During the night, the two Sailors became separated but a US Coast Guard (USCG) HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew located and pulled USN HT2 Chavez from the water. USN HT1 Mantz rescued the next day by the Good Samaritan fishing vessel NANI G. Both Sailors are instructors assigned to the Center for Naval Engineering Learning Site, Pearl Harbor, HI
