US President George W. Bush pauses to greet US Navy (USN) Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) Winston Cotterell, an Aircraft Handling Office assigned to the Wasp Class, Amphibious Assault Ship, USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7). President Bush visited the ship while in New Orleans, Louisiana (LA) observing first hand the results of the rescue and recovery missions carried out by the military currently assisting in Joint Task Force Katrina hurricane relief efforts. The USN is currently involved in Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations, led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense (DOD).
