Summary
West Virginia National Guard Maj. Walter Hatfield (center) evaluates the rigging method used to vertically hoist a life-sized horse mannequin during an animal rescue training session held Oct. 12, 2017 at the WVNG Center for National Response. Hatfield, commander of the Joint Interagency Training and Education Center’s (JITEC) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives (CBRNE) battalion, is also heading up a swift water rescue team composed of more than 50 members of the WVNG, Clendenin and Glasgow Fire Departments.
