The event, hosted by th Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency, was held on Thursday, August 9, in conjunction with FEMA in order to inform and instruct community leaders on the establishment and operation of a POD site should a disaster strike their areas and residents are in need of water, food and ice. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
