A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to Train, Advise, Assist Command (TAAC)-East helps navigate during a mounted patrol outside of Camp Fenty, Afghanistan, Feb. 15, 2016. TAAC - East, in full partnership with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational organizations, conducts functionally-based security force assistance through Train-Advise-Assist in order to enable a credible, capable, increasingly sustainable Afghan National Defense and Security Forces that are capable of preventing terrorist safe havens in eastern Afghanistan.
