Spc. Alfred Kollie escaped civil war in Liberia and
Summary
Spc. Alfred Kollie escaped civil war in Liberia and more than eight years in a refugee camp to become a U.S. soldier with Task Force Wolfpack, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, on Forward Operating Base Salerno, Afghanistan. "It was hard, but in life you have to make the best of what you've got," said Kollie. "All my life I've tried to do that, and I always try to learn from the people around me, and always try to be the best in whatever I do."
