A US service member field dresses his parachute after participating in an US/Thai joint-combined jump exchange at this year's Exercise COBRA GOLD. A jump exchange is a time honored jump tradition that affords individuals the opportunity to earn the right to wear the wings of foreign military paratroopers who participate in the jump exchange. COBRA GOLD '01 is regularly scheduled, joint-combined exercise designed to ensure regional peace and strengthen the ability of the royal Thai Armed Forces to defend Thailand or respond to regional contingencies. This year's exercise, the 20th in the series, will focus on peace enforcement operations
