Alakanuk, Alaska, July 16, 2013 -- Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) Dolph A. Diemont works with the Alakanuk City Manager James Blowe during a damage assessment tour after severe flooding devastated the community. Federal funding in the form of Public Assistance (PA) is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain nonprofit organizations on a cost sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the flooding in the Alaska Gateway Regional Educational Attendance Area (REAA), Copper River REAA, Lower Yukon REAA, Yukon Flats REAA, and the Yukon-Koyukuk REAA.
