Alakanuk, Alaska, July 16, 2013 -- The Alaska State Coordinating Officer Sam Walton (C) and Federal Coordinating Officer Dolph A. Diemont (L) tour with City Manager James Blowe (R) and discuss the FEMA programs which will assist in the recovery efforts after severe flooding destroyed their tank system. Federal funding in the form of Public Assistance (PA) is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain nonprofit organizations on a cost sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the flooding in the Alaska Gateway Regional Educational Attendance Area (REAA), Copper River REAA, Lower Yukon REAA, Yukon Flats REAA, and the Yukon-Koyukuk REAA.
