An Estonian instructor uses a terrain model to brief soldiers from Lithuania on their patrol routes. The soldiers learned proper techniques while conducting a tactical patrol during the exercise. Baltic Challenge '97 is a multinational exercise conducted in the spirit of NATO's Partnership for Peace (PfP) initiative. More than 2600 military personnel from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the USA will participate in the second PfP land exercise conducted in the Baltic region
