Louisiana, Mo., June 7, 2013 -- State Route 79, which closely parallels the Mississippi River, is closed in Louisiana because of rising river waters. FEMA and the State of Missouri are doing joint Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDA) in the areas affected by rising river. A PDA is used to determine the magnitude and impact of an event's damage.
