PETTY Officer 2nd Class Jeremy Moore with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 5 (HS5), Jacksonville, Florida, flashes a signal to the A-10 jet to help them in locating his coordinates during a survivor retraction exercise in participation of DESERT RESCUE IX. Desert Rescue IX is the premiere search and rescue (SAR) training exercise involving Navy, Army, Air Force and Marine personnel. It is conducted at the ranges of Fallon Naval Air Station, Nevada. The radio is a AN/PRC-112, it is one of the only transceivers that provides voice and covert transponder identification as well as navigational aid information
