Senior leaders from the U.S. Army Reserve Engagement
Summary
Senior leaders from the U.S. Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Reserve Component pose for a group photo Sept. 29, 2015, at Japan’s Ministry of Defense near Tokyo. The leaders exchanged ideas on how to encourage both commands to train together on a more frequent and engaged level. Their proposals ranged from expanding the interpreter language exchange program to integrating Japanese service members in a two-week civil affairs course hosted by U.S. Army Japan. The group also agreed to create the first formal private-public partnership program to connect U.S. Army Reserve and the JGSDF Reserve Component service members with major civilian employers based in Japan.
