Description: The traditional inflight crew portrait has all seven crewmembers together in the spacelab science module for one of the rare occasions on the 14-plus day mission. Visible are Commander Robert D. Cabana is flanked by Pilot James D. Halsell, Jr and Payload Specialist Chiaki Mukai representing the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) of Japan, Payload Commander (PLC) Richard J. Hieb, Mission Specialist (MS) Donald A. Thomas, MS Carl E. Walz, and MS Leroy Chiao. Crewmembers are wearing their mission polo shirts for the portrait. Inside this module, the crew conducted experiments in support of the International Microgravity Laboratory 2 (IML-2) mission.
