Peter Malik, USARSO Sixth Army Special Troops Battalion, officially activating the organization. The Headquarters Special Troops of Sixth Army was born on January 25th, 1943 and provided the logistical and operational support for Sixth Army as it fought in New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, and the Philippine Islands during World War II.
