A US Navy (USN) F/A-18C Hornet aircraft assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 151 (VFA-151) launches with after burners aglow from the flight deck aboard the USN Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), during a PASSING EXERCISE (PASSEX). The Lincoln Carrier Strike Group 9 (CSG-9) and ships of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) are currently underway in the Pacific Ocean, conducting an officer exchange program as part of Exercise. PASSEX demonstrates the US Navy's ability to work with forces in the region to carry out combined operations
