Sgt. 1st Class Kyle Vanderlaan, an Army Reserve career counselor from Belding, Mich., with the Army Reserve Careers Division, Staff Sgt. James Thornton, a combat engineer from Spartanburg, S.C., with the 323rd Engineer Company, and Spc.
