Major General (MGEN) Paul Weaver, Commander of the Air National Guard, addresses members of the 116th Bomb Wing at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. MGEN Weaver and Georgia Congressman Saxby Chambliss were briefing the Guardsmen on the recent decision by the Department of Defense to slash funding for the B-1 Lancer bomber and eliminate the aircraft from the National Guard inventory altogether. Both Weaver and Chambliss said they were taken by suprise by the decision and would fight to keep the 1,200 or so guardsmen employed
